Around 1998 the independent Czech label Rachot signed two groups with very similar instrumentation but quite different music: Metamorphosis and Deep Sweden. The musicians of both groups kept meeting on concerts, in studios and got to know each other. On one point Martin Alacam began to work with Deep Sweden’s vocalist Alex Marculewicz and created the base for the band SingSing. Alex’s colleague from Deep Sweden, the cellist Lucy Fillery-Murphy joined, then the British rock drummer Marcus Godwyn and finally me as well, playing all sorts of instruments. SingSing went into the studio after a summer of rehearsing and the album was received enthusiastically The group started toured and played memorable concerts in clubs and on festivals. Following the disbandment of Alex and Lucy’s main project Deep Sweden Alex moved back to the United States, Lucy to England (to return to Prague in couple of years), Marcus and me to St. Petersburg, Russia.
